Sanskruti School of dance presented Utsav which means celebration in Sanskrit as a part of the Cambridge Big Weekend Festival on July 11, 2010. The event showcased solo and group Bharatanatyam performances by all the students along with performances in Carnatic vocals and violin by students and teachers of Sanskruti. Intertwined with the classical Indian art forms was the more contemporary Bollywood style dancing performed by adults and children. The children’s Bollywood performance was a result of a series of six workshops conducted by Krishna at Spinney Primary School in collaboration with Cambridge City Council.
